About the Colleen Cloney Duncan ShopThe Museum Shop at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture is named for Colleen Cloney Duncan, a long-time member and volunteer shopkeeper at the museum. A native of Martin, Michigan, Colleen raised a large family, but always found time for community projects in her adopted hometown of Kalamazoo, Michigan. When she and her husband, James H. Duncan Sr. retired and moved to Santa Fe in 1988, Colleen became a student of Native American art and culture. She loved sharing her knowledge with museum visitors and logged thousands of hours over a decade of service. With her knowledge of the subject matter and enthusiasm for Native Arts, Colleen was a natural role model for volunteers in the Museum Shop. The remodel and expansion of the Museum Shop at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture was made possible by members of Colleen's family in honor of her many contributions to the community and the Museum of New Mexico Foundation.
